Translation of the Hilye Text:
When Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) described the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said:
“He was neither too short nor too tall, but of medium stature.
His hair was neither tightly curled nor completely straight, but slightly wavy.
His face was round, his complexion radiant and fair, his eyes large and black, and his eyelashes long.
He was broad-shouldered and strongly built. From the upper chest to his navel, there was a thin line of hair.
His palms and soles were fleshy and smooth. When he walked, he moved with ease, as though descending a slope.
When he turned to look, he turned his whole body.
Between his shoulders was the Seal of Prophethood, the mark that he was the final Messenger.
He was the most generous of people, the gentlest in nature, and the kindest in companionship.
Those who saw him suddenly were awed by his presence,
but those who knew him and spoke with him loved him deeply.
Anyone who tried to describe his perfections would inevitably say:
‘I have never seen anyone like him, neither before nor after!’”
Thus did Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) describe the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Verse Inscribed Below:
